Building brick by brick
For over a decade, I lived in the trenches of corporate technology. Working as a Senior Presales Engineer, Implementation Manager, and Customer Success Manager, my job was to make complex software work for massive organisations.
Every integration, every custom tool, and every workflow had to be built line by line, brick by brick. It was slow, tedious, and manual. If a single comma or bracket was misplaced, the whole system broke. I spent more time wrestling with code syntax than actually solving problems.

Then, artificial intelligence arrived. Like most tech professionals, I started small. I used AI to help me write basic scripts, troubleshoot minor configuration bugs, and speed up daily admin tasks.
It was a helpful assistant, but it didn't change how I worked. It just made the manual process a little bit faster.

Coding at the speed of thought
The real transformation happened when I stopped treating AI as a spell-checker and started treating it as an engineer.
I began using AI to architect complex automation workflows inside platforms like n8n. Instead of manually writing thousands of lines of code to connect enterprise systems, I used plain English to describe the logic I wanted. The AI generated the code, built the data pipelines, and connected the endpoints in minutes.
From there, I used AI to build custom productivity applications that streamlined entire business operations. I wasn't a programmer anymore. I was a software architect. I was vibe coding. My output exploded because I was focusing entirely on high-level logic, system design, and problem-solving, while the AI handled the manual labour.

As I watched the professional tech landscape shift overnight, I looked at how coding was still being taught in schools.
Students were still being forced to memorise rigid programming syntax, the exact type of manual work that the industry had just abandoned. Traditional ICT classes were teaching students how to be construction workers, right at the moment the world shifted to needing architects.
